Day 4

Date of Journey: 29-11-2016

Route: Chainpur to Pokhrang.
Distance travelled: 24.9 Kms

My Grandfather with his elder brother came to Assam, India from Pokhrang, a small village in sakhuwasabha district of north eastern nepal in 1920s at the age of 15 years. Just like Manmohan Desai lost and found movie Grandpa’s brother lost during the travel. ( काश उस समय भी मोबाइल होता). But unlike movie they never met again. My grandpa proceeded to upper Assam and settled there. Went back to his place only once after that. My dad was born here. He had never been to his father’s birth place. So it was my aim to see my grandpa’s birthplace and to know where our roots are.

At 8:30 I proceeded to Pokhrang. Before proceeding I looked for the policeman to thank him once again but he was off duty and his mobile was also switched off. As told by the policeman the road was even more bad but I became confident after day before’s ride.

I crossed a river filled with big boulders and crossed a dense forests during the ride of 18 km. to reach Bihibare bazaar. 

From here I move to Jaljala VDC(Village development Committee) 6 kms away to meet one office bearer who was suppose to lead me to my relative’s house. However that wasn’t needed as I met one of my relative on the way who greeted me and took me to his home. Had lunch there and stayed. Some pics of the day..
